> Create an [Organisation](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/85917701/Glossary+of+Terms#Organisation) to manage your project. Everything in the Scopious application belongs to an Organisation so you will need to join or create an organisation in order to use the application.

> ⚠️ You do not need to create an organisation if you want to join an existing organisation. If you would like to join an existing organisation, they must[ send you an invitation](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/91619359).

## Create an Organisation

> ℹ️ A credit card is required to sign up however you will not be charged anything until you add devices to your account.

> ℹ️ When you create an organisation, you automatically become the owner of it. You can [transfer ownership](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/75174272/Manage+organisation+members#Transfer-Organisation-Ownership) to another member of your organisation once they have [joined your organisation](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/91619359).

After you have created your [user account](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/75179545), you will be at stage three of the registration process. This is where you will create your organisation.

1. Enter a name for your organisation and (optionally) a website URL.
2. Enter billing contact information for the organisation.

> ℹ️ All invoices will be sent to the billing contact. This contact can be different from the owner.

3. Enter payment method details for your organisation.

> ℹ️ If you do not wish to pay using a credit card, you will need to contact [Scopious Support](mailto:support@scopious.co.nz) and apply to open an account.

After your organisation has been created you will be directed to our application home page.
