> An [Integration](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/85917701/Glossary+of+Terms#Integration) represents a connection to an external destination (platform) that device data will be sent to.

## Create an Integration

To create an Integration:

1. Navigate to the **Network > Device Pools** page using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the Device Pool that you would like to create the Integration for.
3. Click the three dots (…) context menu on the top right of the screen and click **Create Integration**.
4. Enter a **Name** and **Description** for the integration.
5. Select the type of integration:
  - **Webhook** (recommended)
  - **MQTT**

> ℹ️ **Webhook** is the preferred and recommended way to integrate with external platforms as it supports the ability to reinject data from temporary storage into your platform if needed. MQTT does not support this capability.

6. Complete filling in the integration details. Refer to the [Webhook integration](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/248414210) or [MQTT integration](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/258506757) guide depending on your selection.
