> A [Cell](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/85917701/Glossary+of+Terms#Dashboard-Cell) allows you to visualise device data inside a [Dashboard](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/85917701/Glossary+of+Terms#Dashboard) by creating a graph or table.

## Create a Cell

To create a Cell:

1. Navigate to the **Dashboards** page using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the Dashboard that you want to create a Cell for and click **Add Cell**.
3. Select the type of cell that you want. See [Dashboard Examples](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/x/K4CJCg) for more information on the different types of Cells.
4. Step the first page of the form and fill out:
  - Cell name
  - The Devices to display data for
  - The fields to display
  - The downsample function
5. Click **Create** or **Format**. Clicking **Create** will create the cell immediately, and **Format** will allow you to change more about the cell and will be specific to the cell type you have chosen.

> ℹ️ The Device you are creating a Cell for must have sent at least one uplink before you can select it.
