A [Tag](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/85917701/Glossary+of+Terms#Tag) allows you to categorise your resources for easier filtering and organisation. 

## Create a Tag

1. Navigate to the **Tags** page using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Click the **Create Tag** button.
3. Enter a name and optionally a description.
4. (Optional) Enable behaviours for the tag:
  - **Device Data:** When enabled, this tag adds an attribute to uplink messages from devices it is applied to. The attribute is stored as a ‘key:value’ pair and is reported in the `attributes` section in uplink packets. You must define a **Field Key** which is used as the ‘key’ and the tag **Name** is used as the ‘value’.
    - Example: When tag **Name** is `workshop` and **Field Key** is `location`, the attribute added to device uplink packets is:
5. Pick from the sample colours or specify a hex colour code for the tag.
6. Click **Create**.
