From the Device Commands page, you can send downlink commands to your [Device](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/85917701/Glossary+of+Terms#Device) to reconfigure it and/or control it.

## Access Downlink Commands

To access downlink commands, go to the Device's Commands page:

1. Navigate to the **Network > Devices** page using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the device that you want to send a command to.
3. Click on the **Commands** tab.

## Send a Supported Command

In the **Commands** tab, in the left side **Available Commands** panel:

1. Search for the desired command using the search box.
2. Select the **Play** button on the right of the command.
3. Depending on the command, you may have to set some configuration options. For example, the change uplink interval command will ask you to enter the interval time.
4. (Optional) Adjust **Advanced Options**:
  - **Retries**: Set the number of retries to attempt if the command fails. Setting it to 0 will prevent it retrying.
  - **Continue on failure**: Enable this to allow following commands in the queue to be executed if this command fails. Disable this to stop following commands in the queue from being executed if this command fails.
5. Select **Send Command** to add the command to the queue.

> ⚠️ Disabling **‘Continue on failure’** will halt the execution of any queued commands for that device, so use with caution!

> ℹ️ Note: Some commands may specify a minimum required hardware version. If your device uses a lower version, the command may still work, however, we cannot guarantee support.

## Send a Custom Command

> ℹ️ Custom commands allow you to send commands that are not yet registered in our system. You will need to understand the structure and parameters of the device’s command to use this feature. Refer the device manufacturer's user guides for that information.

In the **Commands** tab, in the left side **Available Commands** panel:

1. Select the **Play** button to the right of **Custom Command**.
2. Provide the following:
  - **Name**: The name of the command (for logging purposes).
  - **Description**: A brief description of what the command does (for logging purposes).
  - **Sends Ack**: Enable this if the device sends an acknowledgment when the command is received. If you are unsure, turn this off. If this is off, the command will only progress as far as the **Sent** state.
  - **Category**: Select the category depending on the purpose of the command (for logging purposes).
  - **FPort**: The port that the device listens to for downlinks.
  - **Payload**: This is the data to send to the device. Enter it in hexadecimal format.
3. (Optional) Adjust **Advanced Options** (refer to **Send a Supported Command**).
4. Select **Send Command** to add the command to the queue.
