## Create a Site Location

To create a Location:

1. Navigate to the **Network > Sites** page using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the map pin of the site that you want to create a location for and then click on the title of the site card to open the site page.
3. Click **Add Site Location** and click anywhere inside the site boundary where you want the location to be.
4. Enter a name for the location and optionally a description.
5. Follow the steps below to upload an image and position devices on the image, or save the location now and add images later by clicking the save button on the top right of the screen.

## Upload a Site Location image

> ℹ️ A site location image could be a floor plan, aerial view, or a photo of a location at the site where many devices are used.

If you have not yet created a site location, follow the steps in the section above first.

Open the Site Location:

1. Navigate to the **Network > Sites** page using the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Click on the map pin of the site that you want to create a location for, and then click on the title of the site card to open the site page.
3. Click on the map pin of the location within the site that you want to open.

Upload an image to the Site Location:

1. Drag an image into the drop area or click the drop area to browser for an image on your system.
2. Enter an image name and optionally a description.
3. You can optionally [place devices on the image](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/287571970#Place-a-Device-on-the-Image) now or do it at a later time.
4. Click **Save Image**.

## Place a Device on the Image

If you have not yet uploaded a site [Location Image](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/85917701#Location-Image), follow the steps in the section above first.

To locate a device on an image, open the image if it is not already open, and simply click on the image at the place to locate a device, and then select the device from the dropdown that appears.

> ℹ️ A device may only appear in one image on one site location.

> ℹ️ Devices will not appear in the dropdown list if:
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ 1. They are already assigned to a Site Location, or
> ℹ️ 2. They are devices that report their own GPS coordinates (i.e. GPS trackers)
