> ℹ️ We strongly recommend configuring gateways to use the open standard SemTech [LoRa Basics Station](https://github.com/lorabasics/basicstation) protocol to connect to the Scopious network. This protocol provides enhanced security features over the SemTech [UDP Packet Forwarder](https://github.com/lora-net/packet_forwarder) protocol.

To configure [LoRa Basics Station](https://doc.sm.tc/station/) protocol, configure the following CUPS connection information in the gateway. The gateway LNS connection information will automatically populate once the gateway connects to the network server using CUPS.

Basics Station CUPS information:

- CUPS URI: `gowifi.au1.cloud.thethings.industries`
- Network Server Root CA file can be found [here](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/267878403/Files#TTI-Root-Certificate-File).
- CUPS Client Key file: *this file is unique to each gateway and generated by the Scopious application when **[registering a gateway](https://scopious.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/75169790/Add+a+gateway#1.-Register-the-gateway)** on the Scopious platform*
