# Button Device

## Desired Outcome

In this example, we are monitoring the status of a button. There are three different ways the button can be pressed: short, double, and long press. Depending on the action I want to send various notifications. The following rules will need to be defined:

- **Single-press: **Send info on short or long-press
- **Double-press: **Send a warning notification when the button is double-pressed.

## Steps

1. Enter the Alarm name and description
2. Setup the **single-press** rule

3. Set up the **double-press** rule

The Alarm can be validated using the **Test** button in the top right.

# Trigger Solenoid

## Desired Outcome

In this example, we are going to monitor the temperature of a sensor. When the temperature goes above 25 degrees, we open a solenoid valve that starts the irrigation

## Steps

1. Set the name and description for the Alarm

2. Change the level to info and update the information

3. Set the conditions to trigger when the temperature is greater than 25

4. Add a command for the Solenoid device to open the valve for 180s

5. Configure a webhook to send to [Zapier](https://zapier.com/l/home?). Zapier will send an SMS when the webhook is received

# Advanced: Set Multiple Alarm Levels

This is an example of how to configure an alarm to change levels based on the value of a single field of a single device.

## Desired Outcome

In this example, we are measuring the air temperature of an office, and we want the alarm to show the following statuses:

- Ideal conditions:
  - **OK** when the temperature is between 18 and 21 degrees inclusive.
- Too cold conditions:
  - **INFO** when the temperature is 16 or 17 degrees.
  - **WARNING** when the temperature is between 10 and 15 degrees inclusive.
  - **CRITICAL** when the temperature is below 10 degrees.
- Too hot conditions:
  - **INFO** when the temperature is 22, 23 or 24 degrees.
  - **WARNING** when the temperature is between 25 and 35 degrees inclusive.
  - **CRITICAL** when the temperature is above 35 degrees.

We want to notify the admin group whenever the state changes.

## Steps

First, set the name and description for the Alarm

![image-20251217-045332.png](media://d1f0bc5e-f403-4db4-a537-7a8bd89c01a3)

### **Ideal Conditions**

Rule 1 will notify the admin group when the temperature is comfortable.

### Too-cold Conditions

**INFO**

Rule 2 will be responsible for triggering the too-cold Info status

**WARNING**

Rule 3 will be responsible for triggering the too-cold warning status

**CRITICAL**

Rule 4 will be responsible for triggering the too-cold critical status

### Too-hot Conditions

**INFO**

Rule 5 will be responsible for triggering the too-hot Info status

**WARNING**

Rule 6 will be responsible for triggering the too-hot warning status

**CRITICAL**

Rule 7 will be responsible for triggering the too-hot critical status

### Overview

At this point it would be recommended to validate the alarm by providing sample values.
